The Unitree G1 EDU Ultimate C (U5) is a versatile humanoid robot platform designed for advanced research, dexterous manipulation studies, and embodied AI development. Building upon all the capabilities of the G1 EDU Plus version, the U5 is equipped with dual Inspire 5-finger dexterous hands (RH56DFQ-2R & RH56DFQ-2L), enabling highly articulated, human-like grasping, in-hand manipulation, and complex interaction tasks.

With up to 41 degrees of freedom across the whole robot, the U5 delivers precise whole-body coordination while prioritizing hand-level dexterity for manipulation-focused research. Its sophisticated actuation system, combined with dual encoders at each joint and wide motion ranges, ensures smooth, accurate, and repeatable movements suitable for robotics learning, grasp planning, and human–robot interaction experiments.

Powered by a high-performance AI computing architecture based on NVIDIA Jetson Orin (100 TOPS) and an 8-core CPU, the U5 supports real-time AI inference, multimodal sensor fusion, and advanced control algorithms. Rich perception hardware—including a depth camera, 3D LiDAR, a 4-microphone array, and a 5W speaker—enables robust environmental awareness and natural interaction.

The U5 features WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity for seamless system integration, along with a 9000mAh quick-release smart battery supporting up to 2 hours of continuous operation. Designed with full support for secondary development at both hardware and software levels, and backed by comprehensive developer documentation, the G1 EDU Ultimate C is an ideal platform for manipulation research, embodied intelligence, and higher-education robotics programs.

Purpose-Built for Education & Research

With the optional NVIDIA Jetson Orin module delivering up to 100 TOPS of computing power, the G1 EDU is ready for advanced AI projects, from machine vision to reinforcement learning.

  • Open-source friendly: supports ROS, Python, C++, and popular simulation tools like Isaac Gym.
  • Full developer access with SDKs, APIs, and documentation—perfect for classrooms, research labs, and robotics competitions.

Exceptional Mobility & Dexterity

Engineered for human-like agility, the G1 EDU features 23 to 43 Degrees of Freedom, depending on configuration.

  • Optional Dex3-1 force-controlled dexterous hand for precise manipulation.
  • Additional waist and wrist joints expand movement range for advanced interaction tasks.
  • Knee torque boosted to 120 N·m and arm payload increased to 3 kg—strong enough for demanding tasks while maintaining fluid motion.

Advanced Vision & Perception

The G1 EDU sees and understands its surroundings with professional-grade sensors:

  • LIVOX MID360 3D LiDAR: 360° horizontal and up to 59° vertical FoV for high-resolution point cloud mapping.
  • Intel RealSense D435i depth camera: delivers precise 3D vision for spatial awareness, object detection, and navigation.

Fine-Tuned Human-Like Touch

Experience a new level of robotic manipulation with the optional multi-point tactile sensing on the dexterous hand:

  • Handle fragile items like eggs without breaking them.
  • Perform assembly, welding, and delicate operations with stability and precision.

Compact, Agile, and Dynamic

Standing 127 cm tall and weighing just 35 kg, the G1 EDU is light enough for easy deployment and agile enough for fast, dynamic movement.

  • Runs over 2 m/s.
  • Capable of advanced tricks like side flips, quick stand-ups, and pole routines.

Always Evolving with AI

Powered by UnifoLM, Unitree’s unified large AI model, the G1 EDU learns new skills daily through imitation and reinforcement learning.

  • OTA software updates keep the robot’s capabilities growing—improving gaits, expanding the motion library, and enhancing AI intelligence over time.
